A chiral (parity violating) system can generate a current in response to applied magnetic field or rotation. The physics of such nondissipative currents has attracted much theoretical and experimental interest recently. To shed light on the microscopic origin of such effects and their relation to chiral anomaly we derive the non-equilibrium classical kinetic equation for massless chiral particles. We show that Berry monopole appearing at the origin of the momentum space due to level crossing is responsible for chiral magnetic and vortical effects.
