Special ICMT Seminar: Hunting for Something New, Intriguing and Explainable in 1000 Pounds of Literature
Physics, a free web-publication run by the American Physical Society, exists to bring more attention to physics research. Each week, the site features 6-7 articles -- commentaries, news stories and editor summaries -- that explain the key results in papers from the APS journals. But with nearly 400 papers to choose from every week, how do the Physics editors decide which few to cover? In this talk, I will give an overview of what goes into this selection process and some of the challenges of translating complex research results into a simpler message.
