Navigating the university as an LGBTQ student comes with unique challenges. Sometimes, these challenges seem insurmountable and cause for students to be convinced that they are not valued as significant and needed contributors to our community of learners. Because of folks such as yourself, our LGBTQ and allied students have made it to the final page of this chapter of their life's journey. In recognition of your unique support and service to LGBTQ students at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, you are cordially invited to attend the 2017 Lavender Congratulatory ceremony and celebration.
We ask that you join us in special recognition of our graduates on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in Illini Rooms A&B. Doors will open at 5pm and our ceremony will begin after a brief opportunity to mix and mingle with graduates and those who have also supported them in their journey at University of Illinois. Our special guest, acclaimed comedian and UIUC alum, Gloria Bigelow, will deliver this year's keynote speech and entertainment as we come together to congratulate our students' accomplishments.
Please RSVP to this invitation by replying to firstname.lastname@example.org, indicate if you will be in attendance and the number of any accompanying guests. We look forward to celebrating our graduates' special accomplishments with you!!
