The Blue Waters supercomputer is one of the most powerful supercomputers in the world and is THE most powerful at any university campus. It can perform quadrillions of calculations every second and is used by scientists across the country to better understand earthquakes, tornadoes, how viruses infect our cells, and much more. See the massive supercomputer, learn about how it is used, and view the power and cooling infrastructure that support this research.

No reservations are needed; visitors can arrive any time between 3 and 5 pm and can take the self-guided tour at their own pace (typically the tour takes about 30 minutes). Signs at various points will provide information and tour guides will be on hand to answer questions. Because this is a secure facility, a tour guide will meet and admit all guests at the facility's front entrance (at the south end of the building, facing St. Mary's Road).
