2012 Teaching Sustainability Workshop - SAVE THE DATE
A one-day spring retreat for faculty and instructors to develop practical knowledge and skills for teaching sustainability in the classrooms.
On April 14, 2012, at Japan House, the Office of Sustainability will host its third annual retreat for teaching sustainability. Faculty and instructors from all disciplines across campus are encouraged to attend our hands-on brainstorming session devoted to bringing sustainability into the classroom in effective and innovative ways.
Sustainability experts from a variety of fields at the University will serve as consultants to the workshop, offering classroom models and curricular content ideas for the teaching of sustainability. During the day, workshop participants will actively work on developing a syllabus in their field.
No experience in teaching sustainability is necessary. Indeed, we particularly welcome those faculty and instructors who are developing or contemplating sustainability-themed syllabi for the first time. Graduate students involved in developing or teaching sustainability courses are also welcome to apply.
Participants will receive a stipend for attending the workshop and completing the course development tasks. Applications will be due March 1st.
Full details to follow in the New Year. For now, please mark your calendars!

Director, Teaching Sustainability Workshop
