Entrepreneur Workshop on Deciding between Consultants and Employees
About the Event:This workshop will discuss considerations for early-stage companies when deciding virtual vs. physical, employees vs. consultants, and if/how one should alter the pitch depending on the funding source. Serving lunch from Geovanti’s: famous chicken strips, Italian beef, and pasta.
About the Speaker: Chad Stiening is a UIUC graduate in Finance and Biology, he has a PhD in Animal Science from the University of Arizona. He presently leads a medical device startup company in St. Louis that raised early funding and is working on a market launch in 2013. Kypha is developing diagnostic technology for autoimmune-related diseases and immunologic disorders. He’s worked consulting companies in the life sciences and managing Biotech incubator space in his previous roles. He formerly worked as head of Translational Research for the Cardiovascular Innovation Institute at the University of Louisville and local hospitals, working on 20 pre-clinical R&D contracts. He worked at Monsanto on genome mapping projects. He is very involved in the St. Louis entrepreneur and biotech community and has been a key committee member in their successful i6 funding award. Chad is providing assistance to EnterpriseWorks clients through the Mentor Management entrepreneur-in-residence agreement.
