SUMMARY:HETEP Seminar: "Standard Model Higgs Searches at CDF"
CREATED:20091001T120000Z
DESCRIPTION:The CDF II detector has recorded nearly 6 fb-1 of Tevatron pr
oton anti-proton collisions at 1.96 TeV. Observation or exclusion of th
e standard model Higgs Boson has become one of the primary goals of the
CDF physics program. This talk will present a summary of recent search
results in the main Higgs production/decay modes utilized in CDF searche
 s. The focus will be on experimental techniques including b-jet identif
 ication\, lepton selection\, and multivariate signal/background discrimi
nation. The latest limits on Higgs production cross-sections from CDF wi
ll be reviewed\, along with the most recent (CDF+D0) Tevatron combined l
imits. The prospects for future improvements in sensitivity will also b
 e discussed.
