    The Resistance and our co-host, Chester Street Bar, are inviting the community to kick off Sexual Assault Awareness month by attending our benefit concert. Join us for a night of inspirtational speeches followed by a variety show including live bands, and a comedy act.

    Award winning slam poet Kit Yan will lead a mini-workshop about theraputic writing and the healing that can come from self-expression. This workshop is a prelude to Kit's one-person show "Queer Heartache."

    A one-person slam poetry theater show presented by Kit Yan, Queer Heartache is a testament to the resilience of queer love in all its forms—between cis and trans siblings, lovers, pride parade attendees, and many more—in the face of heartbreaking barriers everywhere from the dating pool to the medical establishment.

    Join acclaimed slam poet and all around amazing human being, Kit Yan, for their one person show QUEER Heartache. Come along as Kit Yan takes you through a menagerie of new words and ways to talk about love, intimacy, and sex from a queer, trans point of view.

    SASA speaks is an open mic night dedicated to speaking out against all gendered violence. Performers and groups from across the campus community can showcase their talent in order to bring light to the issues that SASA is passionate about. SASA Speaks will also be an open mic event for attendees to perform or speak impromptu about the issue of sexual assault.

The BNAACC recognizes those students of African descent who have graduated from the U of I with a bachelor, masters, Ph.D. or professional degree in a ceremony reflecting the African American tradition.
