The Bureau of Educational Research is organizing a series of meetings during the semester with informal talks, panels and conversations on research in the college, synergistic research across the University of Illinois and elsewhere, best practices for research, research methods, and finding funding or other resources for research.
Dr. Kathleen Gallagher will be presenting the Child Development Laboratory 75th Anniversary Lecture. Her talk will highlight the importance of providing access to high-quality early care and education programs, and why children, families, and communities all benefit from such initiatives.
The College sponsors the Dean's Diversity Lecture Series to encourage introspection on timely issues of equity and diversity. These talks offer a space for productive dialogue about concerns such as perceived inequities, biases, and microaggressions that impact our campus community.
The film "Backpack Full of Cash," narrated by actor Matt Damon, will explore the real cost of privatizing America's public schools and will be followed by a panel discussion with leaders from the College of Education and local school districts.
