William H. Sanders is head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Donald Biggar Willett Professor of Engineering. He served as the director of the Coordinated Science Lab at Illinois from 2008 to 2013 and as the founding director of the Information Trust Institute. Sanders earned a PhD in computer science and engineering from the University of Michigan. He is an expert in dependability and security evaluation, creating reliable and secure systems, and computer systems modeling and analysis.
Peter W. Sauer is the W.W. Grainger Chair in Electrical Engineering and has been a faculty in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering department since 1977. He earned a PhD in electrical engineering from Purdue University. Sauer is an in expert large-scale interconnected grid, utility networks, transmission lines, and big generators. Sauer was elected to the National Academy of Engineering, one of the highest honors for engineers, in 2003.
