The Ford Foundation offers fellowships for underrepresented doctoral students and postdocs preparing for academic careers. We'll cover the mission of the Foundation, the application process, and the services of the Office of External Fellowships. Learn about the NIH National Research Service Award, aka the Kirschstein Fellowship (F30, F31, & F32). NRSAs offer support for up to 5 years for PhD students, up to 6 years for MD/PhD students, and up to 3 years for postdocs. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents who are conducting research on topics relevant to NIH’s institutes or centers.
