Professors Kevin Chang, Karrie Karahalios, and Aditya Parameswaran received a $1.8 million NSF grant to holistically unify spreadsheets and database systems. Their DataSpread project combines the ease of use and interactivity of spreadsheets with the scalability, expressiveness, and collaboration qualities of databases.
