The Illinois ISE Alumni and Advisory Board is helping evaluate the current ISE program and needs your help. This 10 minute survey will give us a better understanding of what should be added, enhanced or overhauled as part of the ISE curriculum, as well as what our impressive alumni have gone on to accomplish in the world. The goal of the NSF grant, awarded to ISE professors Carolyn Beck, Angelia Nedich, and Alex Olshevsky, is to create a system that allows each unit of a turbine cluster to perform well individually, despite unstable conditions, while maximizing output as a group.
The ISE chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers hosted the 2016 North Central Regional Conference, uniting engineering students, speakers, and companies from across the country.
DePriest worked his way up from field engineer to supervising major construction sites. Their team called themselves “Geeks in Hard Hats.”
In addition to his two internships while a student at Illinois (the second was with Zenith Data Systems), Olson says he is grateful for the real-world connections made in IE classes.
This Chair honors Jerry Dobrovolny, founder of the General Engineering Department, formerly the Department of General Engineering Drawing, which would eventually merge with the Department of Industrial Engineering to become ISE. He served as head for nearly 30 years, and is a hero to the ISE community. READ MORE
