Student Learning Outcomes Assessment due May 1, 2017

In January 2017, the provost sent a request to all undergraduate academic programs asking them to submit information on learning outcomes assessment activities, using a template created by the campus Council for Learning Outcomes Assessment (C-LOA). Several workshops have been offered this spring, and one additional Working Brown Bag session will be held at noon on April 21. This Working Brown Bag will provide the opportunity for faculty and staff who lead assessment in their unit to discuss their assessment plans with peers and campus assessment experts. To learn more about the workshop, go to this link, and to learn more about the assessment work that is due by May 1, go to this link.

Grand Challenge Learning

Grand Challenge Learning courses are collaborative communities made up of students from all over campus. With enrollment limits of 20-25 students, each course fulfills one or more "Gen Eds" while focusing on one of three pathways: Health, Inequality, and Sustainability. For Fall 2017, GCL is offering 7 sections of our 100-level courses, which feature experiential learning. We are also offering 3 Critical Frameworks (200-level) courses, each co-taught by up to five faculty from across campus. These courses help students make connections across many disciplines. See more at our updated website.

International Student and Scholar Services 35 (ISSS35)

In order to better serve the university community and enhance the overall student experience, ISSS has implemented ISSS35.  This program is all-encompassing with 35 events addressing four district areas: American Culture, Cross-Cultural Connections, Community Connects and Immigration Issues.  These categories incorporate educational, social, and cultural exchange themes.   Over 3000+ students are expected to have participated by the end of spring 2017.  Additional information can be found here http://isss.illinois.edu/involved/events/index.html.
