Join us for an exclusive opportunity to visit Klairmont Kollections, a privately owned vintage automobile showroom featuring more than 300 automobiles from around the world.
Not open to the general public, it is the largest antique and classic car collection in the Midwest and to this day the only such collection in the Chicago area.
Owner Larry Klairmont has amassed stunning and impressive classics including an original 1930 Duesenberg, a 1938 Cadillac owned by Mae West, a 1918 Pierce Arrow, a 1964 Amphicar, and a 1916 Detroit Electric sitting next to a 2009 Tesla. You will be amazed by the diverse collection of both foreign and domestic cars all displayed alongside historical re-creations of a Route 66 Cucamonga Gas Station, a 1939 miniature railroad, and more.
At different points throughout the showroom, LAS professors will give five-minute talks about the automobile’s impact on American society. Docents will also be on hand to provide added information about these remarkable, rare cars.
While cruising through the museum you will be served a retro menu of hearty hors d’oeuvres and beverages and will have the chance to meet our new dean, Feng Sheng Hu during Dessert with the Dean.
For those of you who are vintage car owners, we invite you to display your car in the LAS Alumni Vintage Auto exhibit located in the parking lot of Klairmont Kollections. Here, 15 cars owned by alumni will be featured. Spaces are oversized and this is a first-come, first-served opportunity for you to share your extraordinary rides with fellow alumni.
Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind event that offers you an exclusive viewing of a world-class auto collection, and much more. Even if you are not a classic car enthusiast, you will be fascinated by this private collection and the narrations of the LAS professors. Please join us for an extraordinary afternoon that you won’t forget.
