Welcome New Fraternity & Sorority Affairs Staff!

Fraternity & Sorority Affairs would like to welcome two new staff members to our team this year. We are very excited to have them on board!

Mustafa Abdullah, Jr. joined the FSA staff in mid-August as a Graduate Assistant.  Mustafa (M.J.) is a 2016 University of Southern Illinois University Carbondale graduate and a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity.  M.J. is currently in the Education Policy, Organization & Leadership Program in the Higher Education Division.  To learn more about M.J. visit http://fsaffairs.illinois.edu/about/staff/abdullah/

Fall Semester Certified Housing Workshop  
Mark Your Calendars! Attendance at this meeting is required as a part of your organization’s certification. The semi-annual Certified Housing workshop regarding University certified housing standards, municipal building safety and health codes has been scheduled for Champaign and Urbana fraternities and sororities.  The fall workshop details are below

Update Your Roster! 
Please update your chapter roster online. Now is the time to remove all members that graduated in May or August and others that may not be returning for any reason. Panhellenic Council NPC Chapters must update their roster by Tuesday, September 5, 2017 Both Panhellenic & Fraternity and Sorority Affairs need accurate membership information for each chapter prior to recruitment - please help us out by updating your roster! New Chapter President Orientation 
All newly elected Chapter Presidents must attend the New Chapter President Orientation to learn about the roster system, expectations of Chapter Presidents and meet the Fraternity & Sorority Affairs staff.

University of Illinois 2017 Homecoming Court Information! 
Applications for the 2017 Homecoming Court are now available at 2017 Homecoming Court Application. This honor is given to 20 student leaders in senior standing who are selected based on their academic achievements, campus leadership, and community involvement. Those selected to serve on the court are viewed as role models for their peers and outstanding representatives of the University of Illinois student body. Please help recognize campus leaders and forward this email to any student you know that may be interested in applying for the 2017 Court.

Also, you may nominate a student for the court by sending the name and email address to homecomingcourt@illinois.edu. We will send a message to the student inviting the person personally to apply and letting the person know that a member of the University community thinks they would be a good addition to the court.

Applicants must submit their completed application by Monday, September 11, so nominate them now.

Illinois Hunter Recruitment Program
The Illinois Hunter Recruitment Program is holding a workshop at Allerton Park this fall to teach students how to hunt deer, turkey and other game. This FREE 2-day event is a great way to learn how to attain your own natural meat, while getting exercise and sharing time with friends in the outdoors! Tutors and Volunteers Needed!
Are you a college student looking to gain volunteer hours or a citizen looking for fun and interesting ways to positively interact and affect middle school children's lives? If so, Franklin Middle School needs your help and would love to have you as part of our "Franklin Family". We are currently looking for volunteers in all subject areas, including some after-school clubs and organizations (e.g. Spanish Homework Club, Science Olympiad, READY Program). The school day is from 8-2:50, and we appreciate volunteers who are able to stay long term, as this helps with building stronger relationships with our students and teachers.
