Gandhi’s Gift

CODESRIA Higher Education Policy Initiative (HEPI): Call for Proposals

Deadline: September 15

The overall outcome envisaged from the HEPI initiative relates to contributing to the emergence of a critical mass of internal and external stakeholders within the higher education sector who can continuously secure the management capacities, autonomy and resources the institutions need to deliver on their academic missions. As a component of this initiative, CODESRIA invites proposals from academics in African universities and media personnel working in the area of higher education to undertake profiles of higher education leaders within the continent.

EU Studies Conference: Call for Abstracts

Deadline: September 21

This annual conference will bring together regional college faculty with the aim of increasing research on and teaching of the European Union at universities and four-year and two-year colleges in Illinois and the Midwest. It will facilitate the building of a dynamic network for regional educators with interests in EU studies. The conference will include panel discussions in which participants can present their research on the EU, as well as sessions on effective teaching of EU-related subjects.

Presentations on any topic relevant to EU studies are welcome.
Colleagues with only a nascent academic interest in the EU are invited to join us without being obliged to present any materials.

Graduate students are welcome. We can also consider participation by graduate students. Pending availability, travel support may be possible for graduate students whose abstracts are accepted for presentation.

Modern Greek: New Online Classes

Attend new online classes, enjoy the convenience and flexibility of online learning and learn how to speak, read and write Modern Greek. Classes start October 17!

Elementary Modern Greek I (GRKM201): develop basic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Greek, learn basic vocabulary of Modern Greek, engage in conversations in Modern Greek and begin familiarizing with Greek culture and history.

Intermediate Modern Greek I (GRKM403): enhance your language skills, learn advanced vocabulary of Modern Greek, engage in conversations in Modern Greek and familiarize Greek culture and history through language.
