Summer Research Laboratory Is Now Accepting Applications

2012 Joint Area Centers Symposium
Cities and Inequalities in a Transnational World conference seeks to better understand aspects of these unfolding processes of urbanization and transnationalism that might prove similar or different from the past and across regions.

Title "Imperial biographies in Multiethnic Empires. The Habsburg and Russian Empires in Comparison"

A reflection on Dr Kuchins' "Russia’s Leadership and U.S.-Russia Relations” 
A summary of the lecture given by Dr. Kuchins during his visit to the University of Illinois as part of the REEEC Distinguished Speaker Series.

Discourse Across Borders: Slavic Studies from Kievan Rus to Present Day

This week the Slavic Graduate Student Association will be hosting their third annual student conference in Lucy Ellis Lounge in the FLB. The conference will feature two keynote speakers, spectators are invited to attend.

REEEC Regional Faculty Associate Rosina Neginsky, Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Illinois at Springfield, is organizing the second annual conference for the society Art, Literature and Music in Symbolism and Decadence (ALMSD), “Symbolism, Its Origins and Its Consequences (the theme is Light and Darkness).” The conference will take place April 25 28, 2012 at Allerton Park in Monticello, Illinois.
