Want to Earn NRES Credit through your Summer Job?
If you have been hired for an NRES-related summer job, it is possible to earn internship credit during the fall semester by writing about your experience. While working in an NRES-related job over the summer without earning internship credit can provide you with some of the same benefits, there are three important advantages to completing the work required for an internship:
· The preparation required before you can enroll for the internship credit guides you in having the important conversations with your supervisor to help you ensure that you have the most valuable work experience possible.
· Reflecting on your work experience in the final video/PowerPoint and paper helps you to organize what you have learned and prepare you to be able to discuss it effectively in your job search documents and interviews.
· It appears on your University transcript.

NRES Student Services Seeks Office Assistant for 2012-13
Chelsey Tillman, who has gathered and formatted the job ads for the NRES Career Bulletin is graduating. Congratulations, Chelsey! That means that NRES Student Services needs a new office assistant. This position is 10 hours per week during fall and spring semesters and provides outstanding opportunities to build communication skills and experience. Duties include:
· Posting NRES-related material on social networking sites
· Drafting stories for the NRES web page
· Gathering and formatting information for the NRES Career Bulletin
· Updating databases
· Updating bulletin boards
· Filing
· Preparing mailings
· Other duties as assigned
Excellent communication skills, reliability, discretion, attention to detail, professionalism, and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs are required. Applicants with a Federal Work Study award will receive priority.
