International Week at Illinois

International Week at Illinois is comprised of a series of educational, cultural and recreational events designed to foster interest in our global community. The goal of International Week is to raise awareness about the breadth of international education, activities and resources at Illinois.

Spanish Apartment

L'Auberge Espagnole (The Spanish Apartment) - France, 2002

The story follows Xavier, a 24-year-old Frenchman, who leaves his girlfriend Martine and his country for the ERASMUS programme in Barcelona, a prerequisite for a job with the French government. Xavier manages to find an apartment with other people from all around Europe, with whom he becomes good friends. A multilingual film (includes Basque, Catalan, Danish, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish) with English subtitles.

Ukraine Roundtable

The Languages Less Traveled By: New program in LAS promotes learning in the lesser taught languages

Certain languages—Spanish, French, and German, to name a few—are mainstays in foreign language education in the United States. In the College of LAS, however, a small group called the Less Commonly Taught Languages (LCTL) Program is preparing students for the reality that other languages are also key to success in an increasingly interconnected world. Undergraduate Travel Grant

Brussels

Undergraduate Travel Grants to Participate in the University of North Carolina Brussels Summer Program
Extended Deadline: April 4

The EUC will be offering three travel grants to students participating in the University of North Carolina's EUCE Brussels Study Tour of EU Institutions. These EUC undergraduate travel grants provide funds to cover travel costs and accomodations associated with participating in the University of North Carolina's Brussels EU summer program. Undergraduate students in all disciplines and departments at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign are eligible.

Program dates: June 15-20, 2014. More information about the program itinerary will be available later in Spring 2014.
