The Virtual School of Computational Science and Engineering (VSCSE) is recruiting sites to participate in its 2010 summer schools for graduate students.

The VSCSE helps prepare the next generation of computational researchers so they can take full advantage of extreme-scale computing resources, such as the sustained-petaflop Blue Waters system coming online in 2011.

Students participate in the Virtual School summer courses from various sites across the country via high-definition videoconferencing. Each participating site must provide a high-definition classroom that meets the technical requirements outlined at http://www.vscse.org/summerschool/2010/participation.html. Technical ability must be demonstrated by mid-March.

If your site is interested in participating, contact info@vscse.org or go to http://www.vscse.org/summerschool/2010/participation.html.

Topics being considered for the 2010 summer schools are:

  • Scaling to Petascale. Tentative dates: July 6–9
  • Big Data for Science. Tentative dates: July 26–30
  • Many-Core Processors. Tentative dates: Aug. 2–6

If you have questions or suggestions, contact info@vscse.org.
