Study Abroad! What Are You Waiting For?

The presentation will teach you the value and benefits of studying abroad, how to take courses in your major and earn credit toward your degree in a different county, find a program that is comparable or less than U of I tuition, and how to get started on your international experience once the presentation is over.
What is ACDIS?

Program in Arms Control, Disarmament, and International Security (ACDIS)
ACDIS is a multidisciplinary venture that facilitates objective basic research, education and outreach on international security issues. A central objective is to disseminate the findings to the policymaking community, academia, educators, and students. The undergraduate certificate in global security prepares students to use their knowledge and skills in government, the private sector, NGOs, and academia, and in fields such as international relations, diplomacy, politics, business, law, health, finance, and media.

The Certificate in Global Business Culture with Area Specialization

Illinois CIBER (Center for International Business Education and Research)
This certificate program is open to students in all majors and its goal is to develop strong international business skills in order to increase job marketability. The interdisciplinary program consists of four components that total five semester courses and an international experience. The course requirements include two international business courses, a business foreign language class, and two area studies courses. The international experience may be either a study abroad program or an overseas internship lasting at least six weeks. The area studies courses, foreign language study, and study-abroad experience correspond to an area study center (Africa, East Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, South Asia and the Middle East, or Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia) or to a thematic center (global studies, international business, or arms control, disarmament, and international security).
