The Champaign Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred on January 18, 2010 at approximately 5:17 pm in the 500 block of South Fourth Street, Champaign. (map)
The victim was walking on the Boneyard Creek pathway when individuals approached the victim from behind and followed closely. The offenders followed the victim northbound along Fourth Street where one offender grabbed the victim’s property. The offenders then ran from the area.
Both offenders were described as thin males with sweatshirt hoods pulled onto their heads, approximately 5’ 00” tall and between the ages of fifteen and nineteen years old. The first offender, who took the property, was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt over a white shirt and blue jeans. This offender departed the area running south on Fourth Street and then east on Healey Street. The second offender, who stayed on the corner of Fourth Street and Springfield Avenue, was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. This offender ran west on Healey Street and then turned around and ran east on Healey Street.
The victim was not injured in the incident.
