Relocated Fans Maintain Loyalty to Old Hometown Teams

 Stodolska and Tainsky When fans relocate to a new city, they often remain loyal to teams in their former city, according to Assistant Professor Scott Tainsky and
Associate Professor Monika Stodolska. They conclude that fans see sports as a way to assert their loyalty to their old city and hometown team in a relationship that endures, according to the study, published in Social Science Quarterly. See more about the team loyalty study.
