College seeks applicants for Student Ambassadors program

If you're enthusiastic, innovative and motivated to make an impact while on campus, College of Media Student Ambassador Program is for you! College of Media Student Ambassadors (SA) is a student-run group through the College of Media that offers students the opportunity to develop leadership skills, build life-long connections to the University, and network with alumni and friends of the College. Ambassadors represent the College at student, alumni, and academic events. Members also serve as hosts for distinguished alumni and prospective students. Membership is open to College of Media sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Students are selected based on applications and formal interview scores.

Student Ambassadors are expected to:

  • participate in monthly meetings,
  • participate in committee events and activities,
  • maintain academic success,
  • be team players,
  • be knowledgeable about your college and university and
  • represent the College of Media with dignity, enthusiasm and pride.

Student Ambassadors participate in many events:

  • College Tours
  • Orange & Blue Days
  • Alumni Reunions
  • December Graduation Celebrations
  • Student/Alumni Gatherings
  • Roger Ebert’s Film Festival
  • Thank-A-Thon
  • College Lecture Series
  • Investitures and Award Ceremonies

Applications for Student Ambassadors are accepted online at Applications for the upcoming academic year (2011-2012) are due February 28, 2011, and candidates selected for an interview will be notified by email. Interviews will be held the week of March 7, 2011 usually during evening hours. Professional attire is recommended.
