Four College alumni nominated for regional Emmys

Four graduates of the College have been nominated for regional Emmys. Cara Restelli '00 JOURN, winner of two previous Emmys, is nominated in the "Informational/instructional feature segment" category for her piece "Bucket Babies", made for KYTV in Springfield, MO. Emmy-winning journalist Andy Banker '89 JOURN of KTVI-TV is nominated in the "Politics/Government-news story/Program feature segment" for "The Sign Kid." Previous Emmy-winner Alison Davis Wood (JOURN BS '90/MS '11) is a nominee in the "Historical Documentary Category" for her historical documentary on two-time Nobel Prize Winner and University of Illinois Engineering Professor Emeritus John Bardeen (1908-1991) which aired on the Big Ten Network. Andrea Firestone '02 JOURN is nominated in the "Best big market TV newscast" category for her work at NewsChannel 5, KSDK, in St. Louis, MO. The awards ceremony will be held on October 22.
