Leonard named to the board of the Public Media Business Association

Mark Leonard, General Manager of WILL Radio, TV and Online, has been named to the board of the Public Media Business Association (PMBA) the national organization for business, management and financial issues of public media.


The PMBA is the “go-to” trade association serving the business needs of public media, focused on delivering programs and services that enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and economics of public media.  PMBA is led by a roster of volunteers who represent the top business people in public media.  With expertise in management, finance, human resources, reporting, and operations, the PMBA leadership guides the organization in its mission to improve public media’s bottom line.


In a 32-year public broadcast career, Mark has worked at six public broadcast stations.  He was Chief Operating Office for KCTS Seattle, General Manager for KYVE Yakima, and Vice President for Television at WXXI Rochester.  He has served as producer and executive producer on many local, regional, and national television productions, winning numerous industry awards including three EMMYs, a Cine Golden Eagle, and five New York State Broadcasters’ awards.


Mark currently serves as the President of the Illinois Public Broadcast Council, the association of all public television and radio stations in Illinois, as well as serving as a board member of the national University Licensees’ Association.
