The College of Media has received a grant from the Office of Public Engagement to support Media University, a new summer program for the College. Media University is a two-week summer program for high school students designed to introduce the many facets of advertising, journalism and media/cinema studies as career choices through hands-on learning activities. It will allow students the opportunity to work on a real project; interact with University of Illinois faculty, ad agency and client personnel, journalists, and media personnel; and learn from current University of Illinois students.

Program Director Rhiannon Clifton stated, “We are very appreciative of this support from the Office of Public Engagement, as it will allow us to offer scholarships to this unique program. Diversity is such an important part of the media, and this will allow a more diverse group of students to attend.”
