JOURN Professor Rosenstein appointed to CAS

8/12/2013  8:00 am

Journalism Professor Jay Rosenstein has been appointed to the Center for Advanced Study (CAS). CAS professors are selected from the faculty on the basis of outstanding scholarship and creative endeavor and are permanent members of the Center. A CAS appointment is among the highest forms of campus recognition. Earlier this year Professor Rosenstein was selected as a 2013 University Scholar.

Journalism Department Head, Rich Martin said, “Jay has done, and will continue to do, extraordinary work as a documentarian. This honor is recognition of his accomplishments and is well deserved. The Department of Journalism is proud to call him one of our colleagues.”

With Rosenstein’s appointment the Journalism Department now has two of the 27 CAS professors; Professor Leon Dash is the Center's director.

In 2011 Rosenstein’s documentary "The Lord Is Not On Trial Here Today" received the prestigious Peabody Award, among other honors.

Congratulations, Jay!
