Jake Aurelian, '00 MACS, has published an award winning collection of short fiction entitled, Dead Wrestlers, Broken Necks & The Women Who Screwed Me Over (2011). This summer, Dead Wrestlers... has been the recipient of two literary awards: Finalist (short fiction) in the 2012 Next Generation Indie Book Awards (considered the "Sundance of book awards") and 2nd Place/Runner Up (general fiction) at the 2012 Hollywood Book Festival.

In 2009, Aurelian co-authored the true crime/political book, Too Politically Sensitive, with Mike Callahan which discusses myriad corruption in the state of Illinois spawning from a 1986 double murder in the rural town of Paris. This case has been on CBS' 48 Hours three times, and in 2010, Paula Zahn dedicated an episode of her program, On the Case with Paula Zahn, to the unsolved homicides. Too Politically Sensitive has been used as a textbook at various colleges including the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Springfield.
