Bastian Scholars Named for Fall 2011

The Global Studies program is pleased to announce the recipients of the Fall 2011 Bastian Scholarship:

 

Rick Dembinski - Quito, Ecuador
Emily Fishman - Rome, Italy
Giovanni Navar - Rome, Italy
Bianca Serrato - Barcelona, Spain
Kari Wozniak - Quito, Ecuador

 

These students are participating in study abroad programs in which they will take courses with local students or live with local families/students, and thus maximize their target language and culture learning opportunities. In addition, these recipients intend to participate in field work experiences - including research, internships, and volunteering - while they are abroad. The recipients have also demonstrated a strong commitment to international activities on campus through their associations with organizations like the Global Studies Leaders, the Haiti Relief Fund, the McKinley Foundation, and Alternative Spring Break. Please join us in congratulating these Global Studies majors.
