Bastian Scholars Named for Spring 2012

The Global Studies program is pleased to announce the recipients of the Spring 2012 Bastian Scholarship:

Alexandria DeMaio - Bologna, Italy
Kelsey Lyles - Quito, Ecuador
Lauren Parisi - Quito, Ecuador
Brian Slivnick - Granada, Spain

These students are participating in study abroad programs in which they will take courses with local students or live with local families/students, and thus maximize their target language and culture learning opportunities. In addition, these recipients intend to participate in field work experiences - including research, internships, and volunteering - while they are abroad. The recipients have also demonstrated a strong commitment to international activities on campus through their associations with organizations like Convopartners, the Study Abroad Office, the Global Studies Leaders, and Mi Pueblo. Please join us in congratulating these Global Studies majors.
