Obesrvations on Obesity at Community Medical School
The College of Medicine's Observations on Obesity Community Medical School is a free, three-part educational course taking an in-depth look at the clinical and scientific approaches to obesity.
The upcoming lecture on September 27th is sponsored by the Family Resiliency Center (FRC) and will focus on the psychosocial dimensions of obesity. Three panelists, including Dr. Janet Liechty, a faculty member from the School of Social Work and who is also a Co-Investigator on FRC's STRONG Kids Project, will give talks followed by a question and answer period. Dr. Liechty will speak about "Family Dynamics and Obesity". Dr. David Buchner, the Shahid & Ann Carlson Khan Professor in Applied Health Sciences and Dr. Kristen Vogt from Carle Physician Group will also speak. Dr. Buchner will talk about "Obesity: The Public Health Approach to Prevention" while Dr. Vogt will speak on "The Health Impact of Pediatric Obesity".
