Visiting Research Coordinator, Family Resiliency Center

 

The Visiting Research Coordinator will supervise and coordinate research activities related to a Rural Health and Safety Education grant that will evaluate an electronically delivered parenting education program.

 

The position is a temporary Academic Professional position, 100%, 9 month.  Renewal is subject to continuation of funding. Position may move to permanent if funds become available depending on the needs of the department.

 

Available: January 1, 2012.

 

Qualifications: A current affiliation with the Illinois campus is required.  Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral sciences and two years of survey research experience are required. Demonstrated project management skills and experience in managing longitudinal data are required.  Programming knowledge in at least one of the following statistical programs is required:  SPSS, SAS, or Stata. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to use Application Programming Interface (API) functions to extract data from online database platforms.  Experience with word processing and spreadsheet programs, ability to calculate and interpret basic descriptive statistics, strong organization and communication skills, ability to work independently in the face of competing demands, and ability to exercise good judgment in complex situations.

 

Duties: Responsible for the day-to-day management of data collection and preparation of statistical summary reports for the research project.  Develop, design and implement a recruitment plan for research participants.  Evaluate research study protocol, including participant ability measures, process and outcome measures, to optimize for research participants.  Manage research project timeline and workflow.  Develop the online, print, and phone research survey instruments.  Coordinate data collection, develop a database of participant information, and oversee the entry of process and outcome data from the surveys. Train and monitor undergraduate research assistants to assist with data management and other duties. Provide monthly summary reports, for evaluation by faculty PI.

 

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
