Food Marketing and the Childhood Obesity Crisis Presented by Dr. Ellen Wartella from Northwestern

Dr. Ellen Wartella, Director of the Center on Media and Human Development at Northwestern University, will be giving an I-TOPP Lecture titled "Food Marketing and the Childhood Obesity Crisis" on April 5, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in Room 7 in Christopher Hall. Dr. Wartella's research examines TV advertising's role in children's food preferences and food choices, self-regulation and government regulation of food marketing practices, and employing media to combat childhood obesity. I-TOPP is an innovative research based PhD/MPH degree program with a focus on obesity prevention and child health and wellbeing.
