Job Description. The Pathways Project examines how youth develop advanced skills (e.g., responsibility, teamwork, real-world skills) through participation in arts, technology, science, and leadership programs.  We are following youth (ages 13-19), program staff, and youth’s parents over a full program cycle. Participants complete questionnaires, are interviewed, and observations conducted. The job of the Assistant Field Site Coordinator is to work with the Pathways staff and Project Coordinator (Jessie Armstrong) at our Urbana office and at two program field sites (in Champaign and Kankakee) to facilitate the data collection and help with data analysis.

 

 Duties: Assist in planning, preparing for and conducting data collections at program field sites, including conducting questionnaire sessions and individual interviews. Facilitate sorting, filing, and securing of data for entry and analysis at our Urbana office; other data management such as monitoring and tracking. Perform transcription and quantitative data entry. Train and supervise undergraduate research assistants. Participate in data analysis teams. Attend regular meetings. Other duties as assigned.

 

 Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in a human services field is required. Ability to coordinate and work with multiple investigators and research sites; strong organizational and coordination skills; outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; at least one year of research experience;  experience working in or with non-profit organizations are required. Spanish language skills are desirable. Must have afternoon and evening hour availability. Valid driver’s license and car required.
