William “Bill” Mullins, Office Support Associate, is the recipient of the 2017 Marita Romine Distinguished Service Award. The award was announced at the SLCL Faculty-Staff Spring Reception held in the Foreign Languages Building on April 26.

The selection committee had high praise for Bill: “Bill has a friendly helpful manner, and is an excellent ‘face’ for SLCL. He is pleasant and calm, with a willing, helpful manner. He goes above and beyond finding solutions for faculty, staff and students. The School of Literatures, Cultures and Linguistic would be a poorer place without Bill’s presence.”

This award was established in 2011 through the generosity of Professor Douglas Kibbee, the first Director of the School of Literatures, Cultures, and Linguistics, to honor a selected staff member for outstanding service to our faculty and students in the School. It is named for Marita Romine, a former Assistant to the Director of the School.

Congratulations, Bill, for a well-deserved award!
