Proust digital edition project of Professors François Proulx and Caroline Szylowicz featured in PC Magazine
François Proulx, Assistant Professor of French and Italian, and Caroline Szylowicz, Associate Professor and Curator of Rare Books at the University Library, were recently awarded funding from the French Embassy for their current project.
“Marcel Proust’s World War I Letters: A Digital Edition” will offer insight into Proust’s world as he worked on his novel In Search of Lost Time while the Great War raged in France and across Europe. This project is the work of a French-US research consortium creating a fully digital, open-access edition of Proust’s correspondence, bringing together the U of I, the Université Grenoble Alpes and the Institut des textes et manuscrits modernes in Paris.
PC Magazine has profiled their project in its May 15 edition. The article can be read online at: http://www.pcmag.com/commentary/353641/how-marcel-proust-is-going-digital.
