TEACHING ASSISTANTS FOR 2017-2018

The Gender and Women’s Studies Program is seeking applications for teaching assistants to staff discussion sections of GWS 100 (Introduction to Gender Studies) for fall, 2017 and spring, 2018.  Appointments will be one-half (50%) for three sections and will include a tuition and fee waiver and a salary that meets or exceeds the university guidelines.  Teaching assistants hired for these positions will attend the weekly lectures conducted by the professor and be available to meet with her/him/them as needed, prepare for and teach three weekly discussion sections, and grade all papers and assignments in her/his/their assigned discussion sections.  Teaching assistants must be on campus and available to work on the first day of their appointment.   

Applicants must be UIUC graduate students who will be registered during the semester(s) they will be teaching in a program that has not been designated as cost-recovery or self-supporting; they should also have previous teaching experience and a strong academic background in gender studies and feminist theory.

 The Gender and Women’s Studies Program is seeking applications for a teaching assistant to staff discussion sections of GWS 202, Sexualities.  The appointment will be 50% for three sections and will include a tuition and fee waiver and a salary that meets or exceeds the university guidelines.  The teaching assistant hired for this position will attend the weekly lectures conducted by the professor and be available to meet with her/him/them as needed, prepare for and teach discussion sections, and grade all papers and assignments in her/his/their assigned discussion sections.  Teaching assistants must be on campus and available to work on the first day of their appointment.

INSTRUCTOR FOR SUMMER 2017

 The Department of Gender and Women’s Studies is seeking applications for an instructor to teach GWS 378, Fairy Tales and Gender Formation, during Summer I 2017.  This position is contingent upon enrollment. 

 Applicants must be UIUC graduate students who will be registered during the semester(s) they will be teaching in a program that has not been designated as cost-recovery or self-supporting; they should also have previous teaching experience and a strong academic background in gender studies and feminist theory.
