Assessment, Prevention and Mitigation of Complex Environmental Problems: An
EPA Perspective

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's mission is to protect public
health and the environment. To do this EPA must both evaluate complex
environmental problems and develop integrated solutions for those problems.
This talk will review examples of multifaceted environmental problems and
some options for addressing these challenges. Challenges related to
integration of complex environmental data will be highlighted. Social and
political considerations also will be noted.
The talk will be given from 4:00-5:30 pm on Monday, April 4th, in GSLIS building #126. This talk is a part of the Information in Society Series.
