    John P. Morrissette, 45, was arrested at 5:28 p.m. Friday at his home in the 200 block of West Springfield Avenue, Champaign, for cyberstalking. Morrissette continued to place unwanted phone calls after being warned by police to stop contacting the victim.

    At 1:03 p.m. Wednesday at the Illini Union Bookstore, 809 S. Wright St., Champaign, U. of I. student Dakota S. Wayne, 24, of Champaign, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for retail theft. Store security personnel called police after Wayne attempted to leave the store without paying for a binder with a retail value of $2.99.

    A U. of I. employee reported that his scooter had been knocked over and damaged between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at U. of I. parking lot F-28, 1105 S. Dorner Drive, Urbana. The estimated cost to repair the damage is $200.

    Domineque D. Howse, 22, of Urbana, was arrested at 11:39 p.m. Sunday near University Avenue and Wright Street, Champaign, for an outstanding city of Champaign warrant for failure to appear in court. Howse’s vehicle initially was stopped for a traffic violation.

    At 7:42 p.m. Friday, a U. of I. student reported that someone had made $2,564.99 in unauthorized charges to her credit card.

    At 8:50 a.m. Saturday, a U. of I. employee reported that someone had broken a window during the past month at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, 500 S. Goodwin Ave., Urbana. The estimated cost to replace the window is $1,000.

    At 7:17 p.m. Friday, a U. of I. student reported that another student with whom she previously had been in a dating relationship was sending unwanted messages after being asked to stop.

    At 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Illini Union Bookstore, 809 S. Wright St., Champaign, U. of I. student Josue Mota, 19, of Urbana, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for retail theft. Store security personnel called police after seeing Mota attempt to leave the store without paying for a textbook with a retail value of $37.50.

    At 4:10 p.m. Thursday, a U. of I. student reported that she had been receiving harassing messages from another U. of I. student. The unwanted messages started when the two ended a dating relationship in April.

    At 8:09 p.m. Thursday, a U. of I. student reported that someone had made unauthorized withdrawals from her bank account totaling $1,987.47.

    A U. of I. employee reported that his motorized bicycle had been stolen between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Thomas M. Siebel Center for Computer Science, 201 N. Goodwin Ave., Urbana. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $900, was locked to a rack.

    At 3:38 a.m. Saturday at the Illini Union, 1401 W. Green St., Urbana, Alex Zavin, 38, of Skokie, Illinois, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for trespassing on state-supported property. A security guard called police after observing Zavin acting strangely. Zavin previously had been issued a no-trespassing notice for U. of I. property.

    A U. of I. employee reported that a window had been broken Friday at U. of I. parking garage C-7, 801 S. Sixth St., Champaign. The estimated cost to replace the window is $500.

    At 11:37 a.m. Saturday, a U. of I. student reported that he had been the victim of deceptive practices. A person purporting to be a landlord directed the student to send two months’ rent totaling $1,100 to lease an apartment in California. The landlord then asked for a third month of rent and was not responsive when the student questioned the request. When contacted by police, the true property owner indicated the house is not for rent. 

    A U. of I. employee reported that a window had been broken between 6-8:15 a.m. April 28 at the Education Building, 1310 S. Sixth St., Champaign. The estimated cost to replace the window is $350.

    U. of I. student Rohit Kumar, 19, of Champaign, was arrested at 5:48 p.m. Friday at the Illini Union Bookstore, 809 S. Wright St., Champaign, for retail theft. Store security personnel called police after seeing Kumar attempt to leave the store without paying for a textbook with a retail value of $18.80. While speaking with police, Kumar admitted to previously stealing other items, including lab equipment, another textbook and more than 100 small food items. The total value of stolen items is estimated to be $360.89.

    At 2:39 p.m. Monday at the U. of I. Public Safety Building, 1110 W. Springfield Ave., Urbana, it was reported that a U. of I. student had been physically assaulted on Oct. 18 at a fraternity house in Champaign. The alleged offender, a person known to the student who has not been arrested, later sent unwanted messages to the student.

    A U. of I. employee reported that her car window had been broken between 8:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday. The employee noticed the damage after parking the vehicle at two university garages during the day. The estimated cost to replace the window is $300.

    Daniel A. Witte, 27, of Shirley, Illinois, was arrested at 11:17 p.m. Sunday at State Farm Center, 1800 S. First St., Champaign, for theft and resisting arrest. Witte and another person ran from police after trying to steal a full beer cooler from a concessions area. The second person was later identified but has not been arrested. The total estimated value of the cooler and the beer is $1,000.

    U of I student Yuan Tang, 21, of Champaign, was arrested at 4 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of West Gregory Drive, Urbana, for domestic battery. A witness called police after seeing Tang in a physical altercation with another person.

    A U. of I. student reported that his cellphone and debit card had been stolen around 2 p.m. Thursday from a locked locker at the Activities and Recreation Center, 201 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign. The cellphone has an estimated value of $300.

    A U. of I. student reported that she was hit with a raw egg thrown from a passing car at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday while walking near Fourth Street and Armory Avenue, Champaign. The student was not seriously injured.

    A woman reported that her son’s wallet had been stolen between 5:45-9:20 p.m. April 15 from the basketball courts near Oak Street and Stadium Drive, Champaign. Someone made an unauthorized $5.48 charge to a debit card in the wallet, which was left unattended near the courts.

    At 6:32 p.m. Wednesday, a U. of I. employee reported a series of small holes in three windows at Colonel Wolfe School, 403 E. Healey St., Champaign. The damage appeared to be the result of someone firing a pellet gun at the windows, and the estimated cost to replace the windows is $3,000.

    A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen between April 7-10 from Wassaja Hall, 1202 S. First St., Champaign. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $470, was locked to a rack.

    At 2:43 p.m. Monday, a U. of I. student reported that he had been the victim of deceptive practices. The student arranged the sale of a pair of shoes over the internet with someone whom he had never met in person. The buyer sent the student a check for more than the arranged sale price and instructed the student to cash the $1,850 check and return the money. After the student complied, the original check never cleared.

    At 5:19 p.m. April 18 at the Illini Union, 1401 W. Green St., Urbana, a U. of I. student reported that money had been stolen between September and December from a bank account belonging to a registered student organization.

    A man reported his cellphone had been stolen between 3-9 p.m. Saturday during an event at Illinois Track Stadium, 1300 W. St. Mary’s Road, Urbana. The cellphone, which has an estimated value of $650, was left unattended in a public area.

    A U. of I. student reported that a $150 cellphone and other items were stolen between 6:45-7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Campus Recreation Center East, 1102 W. Gregory Drive, Urbana. The items were left in an unlocked locker.

    At 8:51 p.m. Tuesday, it was reported that a U. of I. student was sexually abused April 2 at a university residence hall in Urbana by a person known to the victim

    Marcus T. Dishman, 35, of Champaign, was arrested at 11:17 p.m. Monday near First Street and Stadium Drive, Champaign, for an outstanding city of Champaign warrant for damaging property. Police initially were called by a witness who claimed Dishman had fired a gun into the air. Dishman did not have a firearm when police found him.

    A U. of I. employee reported that his vehicle had been damaged between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts parking garage, 500 S. Goodwin Ave., Urbana. The estimated cost to repair the dent and scratches is $1,500.

    On March 3, a U. of I. employee reported that a $600 goal post pad had been stolen from Memorial Stadium, 1402 S. First St., Champaign. Security cameras show a group of people stealing the pad at 10:15 p.m. March 1.

    At 3:30 a.m. Saturday at Presence Covenant Medical Center, 1400 W. Park St., Urbana, U. of I. student Deborah O. Agoye, 18, of Urbana, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for aggravated battery. Agoye reportedly kicked an emergency medical technician while being transported by ambulance to the hospital.
