Fall Assistantships and Thesis Deposit
Published Date:August 23, 2010
Students with fall semester assistantship appointments (RA, TA, GA, PPGA) may be eligible to hold their assistantships through the end of the fall semester if they deposit anytime during the fall semester. For example, a student with a fall appointment processed to end December 15 may hold the assistantship through December 15, even if the student deposits the thesis anytime between now and the December deposit deadline. The policy does not obligate the student to continue the assistantship, and permits students to resign their assistantships and retain their assistantship waivers, if they deposit within 7 days of the resignation effective date. Students with questions about the end date of their assistantship appointments should talk with the unit that provided the assistantship. Questions may be directed to the Graduate College at 333-0035 or to Executive Assistant Dean Deborah Richie at drichie@illinois.edu.
