Based upon the current State of Illinois fiscal year 2010 budget, the amount of funds that the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) receives to fund college scholarships and grants, including the MAP and IIA grants, has been significantly reduced for the 2009-10 academic year. As a result of current funding levels, ISAC will only be able to honor MAP and IIA awards for the fall 2009 term. Unless additional funding becomes available, there will be “NO SPRING 2010 TERM AWARDS”.
We are still hopeful additional funding will become available for the Spring 2010 term later in the year. Soon we will be sending out a letter and/or email to those students affected outlining possible alternative funding options for the Spring 2010 term if ISAC does not receive additional funding.
