Scanning Technician

Lincoln Home National Historic Site Park Guides

Deadline to apply is May 8, 2009 Lincoln Home National Historic Site is seeking full and part time Park guides. Students may qualify for the Student Temporary Employment program. To do so, they must be enrolled in at least 8 hours of coursework, be working towards a degree in history or a related field and be in good academic standing. Employment will begin about June 15, 2009 and should last through September 30, 2009 and can last longer if the applicant continues to meet the criteria listed above and the position is still needed and funding is still available. A National Park Service uniform is required and a clothing allowance is provided. Hours are flexible. Outdoor and weekend work is required with a lot of standing. Salary is $13.18 per hour. Duties of the position include providing timely and accurate information to visitors, presenting talks and leading tours of the home and historic neighborhood, and giving programs to audiences of various ages and backgrounds including large organized groups. Employees operate the visitor contact stations including the Lincoln Home Visitor's Center and the Great Western Depot. Employees distribute tour tickets, provide safety messages, respond to in person and telephone questions. They wear living history costumes and participate in living history demonstrations, vignettes and other types of living history programs. Energy Education Council intern

Weekend Child Sitter
