ITG Image Earns Cover of Lab on a Chip
The Beckman Institute's Imaging Technology Group (ITG) earned the cover of the July 2008 issue of Lab on a Chip for ITG staff member Janet Sinn-Hanlon's rendering of HeLa cells being captured and cultured on silicon cantilevers within microfluidic devices.

Jaffe to Give Fossum Lecture Friday
Harvard University professor Arthur Jaffe, one of the world's top scholars in the field of mathematical physics, will present the Robert and Robin Fossum Distinguished Lecture Series talk Friday, May 2, at the Beckman Institute.

Graduate Student Seminar Scheduled for April 23
The Beckman Institute Spring 2008 Graduate Student Seminar Series continues on Wednesday, April 23 at Noon in Room 1005 at the Beckman Institute. The seminar will feature the following presentations: "Inverse Design for Phase Mask Lithography" by James Rinne; and "Automatic Assessment Method of Spontaneous Speech Fluency" by Su-Youn Yoon. The hour-long seminar is open to the public and a pizza lunch will be served.
