Using Pliny to Annotate Digital Resources @ e-Research Roundtable - July 1

Please join us on July 1st from 12:30-2:00 in room 341 for the next e-Research Roundtable (ERRT).  For our first roundtable related to the new Open Annotation Collaboration Mellon-funded grant project, we will examine John Bradley's PLINY annotation tool. In particular, we will discuss how and to what extent PLINY can be used to perform some of the scholarly functions described in Renear, Allen H.; DeRose, Steve J.; Mylonas, Elli; van Dam, Andries (1999) An Outline for a Functional Taxonomy of Annotation. Yan Wang and Tim Cole will lead the discussion which will include demonstrations of PLINY.  Please see the ERRT Web page (http://cirss.lis.illinois.edu/Rtable/errt.html) for a list of background readings.
