University of Illinois students are never at a loss for things to do in the residence halls; day or night, there is always something going on!
The University of Illinois residence halls go beyond just being a place to sleep and eat to become a hub of student activity and intellect. Each residence hall offers a computer center in addition to high speed internet connections in each room. Eight residence hall libraries are convenient places to study and do research. New friends meet in community kitchens, lounges, game rooms, and exercise facilities. Illinois students can also choose a substance-free residence.
Residence hall dining centers are located throughout campus, and meal plans let students dine at any location. Have lunch on the quad or dine with friends who live in another hall. Our specialty restaurants give choices from hearty steaks to Mexican specialties to an all-vegetarian experience.
Residence hall life offers many ways to interact with faculty outside the classroom. More than 150 credit and non-credit courses are offered right in the residence halls. Students can connect their academic pursuits with their living experience through one of six Living/Learning Communities. Select from a small-college atmosphere in Unit One, the WIMSE (Women in Math, Science, and Engineering) community, Weston Exploration, Global Crossroads, Intersections, or the LEADS community. You’re sure to find an experience that will help you make the most of your time at Illinois.
