The Human Factors & Aging Laboratory has a unique opportunity for a talented undergraduate student to be involved in a project this summer. They are planning to conduct a project at Clark-Lindsey Village (https://www.clark-lindsey.com/) with older adults. The study will assess the potential of the Amazon Echo for use in the homes of older adults, focusing on the benefits, advantages, and challenges older adults may experience when interacting with this particular technology.
This research opportunity is available for the Summer 2017 semester (5/15/2017 - 8/3/2017) through the Human Factors and Aging (HFA) Laboratory at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Their research goals are to understand how best to support successful aging and to improve human-technology interactions for adults of all ages and abilities.
Selected candidates will be performing various tasks throughout the semester by engaging with residents of Clark-Lindsey as they use the Amazon Echo. Preference will be given to students who have interests in conducting research with older adults and/or experience with the Amazon Echo. Access to transportation to Clark-Lindsey Village would also be necessary. Dedicated students who would like to work in the lab over multiple semesters are also encouraged, as there may be availability for the Fall of 2017.
You would be signing up for course credit under CHLH 393 IND; this course is for a Letter Grade.
