Professor Arden Rowell is the Co-Principal Investigator on a research team that has been awarded an $800,000 grant from the Department of Energy to help improve the safety of nuclear power in the United States. The project will use cross-cutting interdisciplinary tools to quantify the risks posed by nuclear power plants.
The project is a collaboration through the Socio-Technical Risk Analysis (SoTeRiA) Laboratory, which is directed by Assistant Professor Zahra Mohaghegh at the University of Illinois' Department of Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering.
