We are proud to welcome a large, diverse and well-qualified class to campus this week.
The MBA class of 2013 includes approximately 125 students from 25 countries and 20 U.S. states. The 25% increase in the class size is reflective of their outstanding quality, not a change in our admissions criteria. Indeed, the higher caliber applicants have made gaining admission to the Illinois MBA program even more challenging and competitive. Students in the Class of 2013 have a higher average GMAT score and GPA as well as more work experience than students from previous classes. The class includes engineers, entrepreneurs, journalists, military veterans, musicians, a sports agent, and two doctors.
The students are currently participating in a one-week orientation. During orientation students participate in a variety of activities including an ethics workshop, career services presentations, a trip to Chicago to meet alumni and enjoy a riverboat cruise, team building exercises, a community service event, and various social mixers designed to introduce incoming students to current students, faculty and staff.
If you are looking for fast-paced, rigorous but fun MBA experience, now is the time to learn more about the Illinois MBA. Over the next few months our recruiters will host several events in cities all over the world. I encourage you to meet up with us, or learn more on our website.
